*Self Care without spending money!

Look, self-care isn’t a one-size-fi ts-all thing. It’s not always about spending money at spas or buying fancy products (though, hey, I’m not mad at a good face mask).

Self-care is about whatever helps you feel restored, relaxed, and just you. Whether it’s checking out a new hobby, chilling out, or diving into something creative, these activities help nourish your mind and spirit without breaking the bank.

Here’s a list of low-cost (or free) ways to take care of yourself, especially if you’re a millennial or Gen Z looking to balance the grind and the chill.

Here’s a list of self-care activities that won’t break the bank, and some are hobbies (yes self care can consist of participating in a hobby) you can dive into that feel more like a vibe than a chore:

1. Journaling:
Writing down your thoughts, goals, or just reflecting on your day can help you clear your mind and stay grounded. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just write however you feel. There are tons of prompts online if you want some direction.
2. Meditation & Deep Breathing:
This might sound basic, but a few minutes of deep breathing or using a guided meditation app like Headspace or Calm can help with stress and anxiety. It’s a quick way to reconnect with yourself and reset your mind.
3. Cooking or Baking:
Experimenting with new recipes or just cooking a meal for yourself can be a great act of self-care. It’s something you can control, and the end result (hopefully!) tastes good.
4. Yoga or Stretching:
You don’t have to be a pro. Just stretching or doing simple yoga poses can release tension and improve your mood. There are tons of free tutorials on YouTube for beginners.

If you're into arts and crafts, this is a great hobby. Try making something for your space, like a painting, a plant holder, or even customizing old clothes. Pinterest is full of ideas!
8. Unplugging from Social Media:
A social media detox might feel hard, but taking a break for a few hours or a day can help you get back to yourself. It’s good to have a real connection with the present moment instead of scrolling all day.

Whether it’s going to the gym, dancing around your room, or just doing an online workout, moving your body is crucial. Exercise releases endorphins, so it’s a natural mood booster.
